Description: REL Midwest and its Midwest Career Readiness Research Alliance hosted a webinar on culturally responsive strategies to promote college and career readiness for American Indian students. The webinar featured Dr. Amanda Tachine, Postdoctoral Scholar at Arizona State University, who shared research on graduation and postsecondary pathway trends for American Indian students. Dr. Tachine also discussed the importance of providing culturally responsive education, drawing on her experience as a former middle and high school teacher. Tami Johnson, Counselor on Special Assignment for the Indian Education Program at Minneapolis Public Schools, shared different types of supports available to foster college and career readiness, specifically focusing on supports that are responsive to American Indian students' cultural contexts, communities, and lived experiences.
