REL Northwest began the first session with the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development (AK DEED) by providing an overview of the project goals. The meeting started with participants reviewing the Strategic Reading Plan logic model to build a context for evaluation planning. Leaders from AK DEED presented a review of the six strategies that comprise Alaska's Strategic Reading Plan, and REL Northwest discussed the importance of logic models for specifying program goals, describing pathways to achieving those goals, and creating an evaluation plan.
