Description: The Strengthening Mathematics Learning In and Beyond the School project kickoff helps participants build a shared understanding of the high-level goals for the project. REL Appalachia staff share research on the importance and role of a mathematical mindset in supporting mathematics teaching and learning. Participants also develop awareness of individual and collective experiences and strengths to improve students' and families' mathematics learning.
Audience: The intended audience for this workshop includes Logan County middle school mathematics classroom educators, afterschool educators, AmeriCorps members, and family engagement specialists.
