The Arkansas THRIVE Leadership Academy is a collaborative program to support Arkansas districts in developing and sustaining a multi-tiered system of support so that students have access to the personalized academic, behavior, and mental health supports needed to be successful. In this session, REL Southwest provided Arkansas Department of Education staff with a high-level overview of different design approaches for an impact evaluation that could be leveraged to evaluate the THRIVE initiative, including options for leveraging oversubscription to form comparison groups. After an introduction to evaluation designs, the REL Southwest team facilitated a discussion of the strengths and limitations of the different designs.
