Description: In this session, participants will continue to cultivate an awareness of their own and others' social identities and how these identities can affect the way individuals may engage in diversity work (e.g., potential misunderstandings future participants may have about conceptual underpinnings of diversity work). Participants will develop an understanding of the importance of the language used in educator diversity work and be able to facilitate discussion of the words and terms. Finally, the group will learn how to use the case study, "The Brookside Story", to illustrate key themes such as implicit bias and racial equity.
