About this event

Location: Virtual, 2022 NCES STATS-DC Data Conference

In this virtual poster session video, REL Pacific consultant Erin D'Amelio and two school/system leaders from the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Public School System (PSS) will share information on PSS's piloting of an early warning system (EWS) that uses early reading data to identify students who are not on track for reading proficiently by grade 3. The presenters will describe the establishment and work of school-level data teams who are using the EWS to strengthen their data-use culture and decision-making processes to improve literacy instruction, determine student supports, and increase student literacy achievement. Wrapping up the video is a brief overview of lessons learned and next steps for the project.

Presenters:

  • Erin D'Amelio, Consultant, REL Pacific
  • Annette Pladevega, SLDS Program Director, CNMI Public School System
  • Dr. Ignacia Demapan, Principal, Kagman Elementary School
