On February 1, 2022, REL West will meet with partners at Oakland Unified School District's (OUSD) Department of Research, Assessment, and Data (RAD) to kick off the project, "Using Machine Learning to Predict Student Needs in Oakland Unified School District". In the first of several technical support sessions, REL West and RAD will define Machine Learning, understand the motivation for its use, develop prediction questions, and discuss how to use predictions in OUSD's work.
