How Do I Know if my College Access Intervention is Working? Using the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) to Measure Levels of Evidence

Wednesday, December 4, 2019

The Virginia College Access Network (VCAN) conference is an annual convening of educators including school counselors, college access professionals, university college and career readiness counselors, and leaders from schools and school districts who came together to share and learn about postsecondary transition best practices. During a 75-minute session, participants learned about the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) levels of evidence and how they can be used to assess the rigor of college access interventions. REL Appalachia staff shared information on a college access intervention review protocol that is being developed with Virginia stakeholders and guide participants on how to apply the tool to college access interventions they are interested in evaluating.
