Washington STEM Education Collaborative

REL Northwest is partnering with Washington STEM, a Seattle-based organization that works with 10 community networks across the state to improve outcomes in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education and to spread and scale promising STEM instructional services.

Objective

REL Northwest is working with Washington STEM to build capacity in three areas: training and coaching STEM educators, using data and evidence for program improvement, and identifying and disseminating research-based practices to improve students' attitudes about math. We will also study the effects of the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship program on recipients' college completion and employment in STEM fields.
