Creating and Using Performance Assessments: An Online Course for Practitioners

Description: This online course will introduce participants to the basic concepts of assessment literacy as a precursor to exploring performance assessment. The course will then focus on how to develop, score, and use performance assessments, and conclude by framing the role of performance assessment within a balanced assessment system. Throughout the course participants will be encouraged to create and administer their own performance assessment and review it for its technical quality. The online course will take approximately 2.5 hours to complete, with additional time needed to complete the related tasks, such as creating a performance assessment and rubric. Participants will be provided with a certificate of completion upon finishing the course.
