Paving the Pathway to College and Career: Building Students' Non-Academic Skills—A Virtual Training Session on a New Resource

Tuesday, March 16, 2021
3:00- 4:00 pm EDT

REL Appalachia (REL AP) staff introduced a new resource compilation for school counselors that shares research and strategies to promote non-academic skills to strengthen students' transition to postsecondary education and training. Designed for an array of stakeholders in Virginia, including school counselors, school administrators, college access providers, case managers, and secondary teachers, the resource compilation includes tools to support all students' postsecondary transitions. The materials in this compilation are based on a series of national webinars developed by the REL AP Improving Postsecondary Transitions partnership, with additional activities and resources as requested by partnership members from Virginia. Both individuals or teams can utilize the resource compilation for professional development, and it includes slides with scripts and summary handouts for ease of use.
