Mining for Skills: Connecting Rural Students with Programs that Facilitate Career Success

Tuesday, October 24, 2017
9:00am – 3:00pm EST

The event, hosted simultaneously at three of the community colleges in southwest Virginia, was an interactive, engaging day designed to increase secondary administrative and instructional leaders' awareness of the benefits of postsecondary education and training, the primary barriers to access, and the opportunities available in the region. The event also provided an opportunity for secondary educators to network and connect with local postsecondary academic and support programs.
