Using Data to Drive Native American Student Success

Wednesday, July 24, 2019

Time: Concurrent Session 1, 2:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. Eastern Time

Location:
2019 National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) STATS-DC Data Conference
Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill
Washington, D.C.

Description:

Understanding how secondary and postsecondary programs affect education and workforce outcomes is crucial for states in deciding how best to meet the needs of underserved students. This is particularly true for Native American students, who have historically attained a postsecondary credential at lower rates than their peers. Join panelists from the Colorado Department of Higher Education; REL Midwest, which is conducting research in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Education; and the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education to discuss how states have used data—and how they hope to use data in the future—to drive education success for Native students.

Partnership: Midwest Career Readiness Research Alliance

Speaker: Amy Feygin, Senior Researcher, REL Midwest
