Strategies for Increasing the Utility of Research

Thursday, March 1, 2018

Time: 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Eastern Time

2018 Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness Spring Conference
Washington, D.C.

Representatives from four Regional Educational Laboratories (RELs) will introduce the REL program and demonstrate how to apply strategies in four key stages of the research process to affect its utility:

  1. Setting a research agenda
  2. Working with stakeholder advisory groups
  3. Making sense of research findings
  4. Driving knowledge utilization

The RELs will define these key stages, describe how they affect research utility, and highlight tools and resources they have developed to support the collaborative research process. The RELs also will highlight how the collaborative work has informed policy and practice decisions across the country.
