Description:

REL Midwest is providing a series of train-the-trainer workshops to build the content knowledge, facilitation skills, and confidence of a cadre of trainers who present KIDS data use workshop materials to kindergarten teachers. The workshop introduces participants to best facilitation practices; presents an overview of the promising practices for examining and interpreting KIDS data; familiarizes participants with the KIDS workshop slide deck, annotated agenda, and facilitation guide; and provides an opportunity for participants to practice their facilitation of the KIDS data use workshop.

Partnership: Midwest Early Childhood Education Research Alliance

Resources:

When you are ready to prepare to present the KIDS data Use workshop, download the KIDS Data Use Facilitator’s Guide [13,879 KB PDF icon ]. This document contains overviews of each section of the KIDS data use workshop and facilitation resources, including sample recruitment letters. Also included are annotated agendas for three versions of the workshop depending on the time available to facilitate.

Before presenting the workshop, choose which slide deck to use from the list below depending on how much time you have, whether you have YouTube access and/or can play videos in your workshop space, and whether any of your participants require closed captioning. Note that the slide decks with embedded videos may take 10 minutes or more to download.

If you choose a version of the workshop with videos, you may also want to download the video replacement slide deck [1,751 KB PowerPoint icon ] in case you discover technological difficulties getting the video to play in the workshop space. If that happens, you can switch to the KEA Video Replacement deck in order to cover that content.

You should also print out a copy of the KIDS Data Use Workbook & Resources [4,890 KB PDF icon ] document for each participant.
