Promoting Positive Math Attitudes: A Training for Secondary Teachers
August 13-14, 2019
REL Northwest held a training event on August 13 and 14, 2019, at the Idaho Council of Teachers of Mathematics conference. This training focused on evidence-based strategies to improve middle and high school students' math attitudes. The training included four separate modules and the materials from each module are provided below. REL Northwest partnered with math experts at the Idaho State Department of Education and the Idaho Regional Mathematics Centers to develop these materials. As such, they reflect state and regional priorities and are compatible with the state's ongoing professional development efforts in math, including the Standards for Mathematical Practice from the Common Core State Standards.
