Oregon Early Learning Collaborative

The Oregon Early Learning Collaborative (OELC) is a partnership between REL Northwest and the Oregon Department of Education, Early Learning Division (ELD); the Oregon Association of Relief Nurseries (OARN); Portland State University, and other stakeholders in Oregon. REL Northwest's initial work with OELC focuses on two main areas: (1) building the data capacity of the ELD and OARN stakeholders and (2) answering high-priority research questions that focus on the early learning workforce, and the implementation and effects of full-day kindergarten on Oregon's youngest students.

Objectives

Initially, the collaborative is increasing partner agencies' knowledge about Oregon's early learning systems and planned data collection. Ultimately, REL Northwest will work with the OELC to complete an inventory of existing data that can inform development of a statewide, integrated early learning data system that will promote data driven program decisions for children and their families.
