Many students graduate from high school and are placed in non-credit-bearing developmental courses upon enrollment at the local college and require remediation. Students who are placed in developmental courses are less successful in college. Our CNMI partners are committed to working together to better align the K-12 system with college and the workforce.

Mathematics Transition Course Trainings in the CNMI

REL Pacific is working collaboratively with the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) Alliance for College and Career Readiness and Success to design and implement a mathematics transition course intended to help prepare students in the CNMI to enter and pass credit-bearing math courses at the college level.

Socioemotional Learning Competencies in the CNMI

REL Pacific is working with Alliance members to provide them with a better understanding of which SEL competencies are hypothesized to be related to college and career readiness and success, as well as common ways to measure and/or support these competencies for high school and college students.
