Improving Low-Performing Schools in Alabama, REL Southeast

The Improving Low-Performing Schools in Alabama alliance is focused on improving student outcomes in K–12 schools that are identified as low-performing (Priority Schools). The alliance is comprised of Regional Planning Team facilitators, turnaround specialists, and university faculty members. The alliance focus is on using the results of research to support the improvement of the state's lowest performing schools.

  2. What are the organizational goals and accompanying objectives addressed by Alabama's Priority Schools in their 2014–15 continuous improvement plans, and which are the most and least common?
  3. What research-based strategies are included in the continuous improvement plans of Alabama's Priority Schools to meet their stated goals, and which are the most and least common?
  4. What are effective research-based practices for improving low-performing schools?
