Strategies for Teaching Secondary Students to Write Effectively

Strong writing skills can be essential for students to express themselves, work with others, and succeed in educational and career opportunities—and the need to develop writing skills extends far beyond the early grades. Drawing on the What Works Clearinghouse practice guide Teaching Secondary Students to Write Effectively, this infographic shares evidence-based recommendations for teachers to help students in grades 6–12 sharpen their writing skills as well as tips on how to implement the recommendations.
