Research on education pathways and workforce demands

In an effort to help rural California communities and community colleges to use data systematically to match students to the demand for specific career pathways, REL West is producing research studies that seek to describe the relationships between the pathways courses at the K–12 level, related programs at the community college level, and middle-skill occupational demand. An initial study is a descriptive analysis of the supply of 2014 graduates from both secondary and postsecondary institutions in California compared with the demand for labor as estimated by projected job openings in four regions.
