How Students’ Perspectives Can Improve Community College Programs

Community counselors are challenged daily to understand and serve their students’ needs. This video describes how counselors at Saddleback Community College, with help from REL West's California Community College Alliance, created opportunities to hear directly from students about their career-counseling needs. Understanding student perspectives helped the Saddleback counseling team identify innovative ways to serve their students more effectively. The strategy of leveraging student perspective is equally valuable for program planning, implementation, and continuous improvement in many educational contexts.;
