Data for action in cross-sector collaboration
When working in cross-sector career pathways partnerships, moving quickly from data collection to forming recommendations reduces the opportunity to consider possible meanings and alternative explanations, and as a result, may lead to flawed conclusions. The “Making Sense of Data” process adapted from a Collective Impact Forum and FSG 2014 report helps ensure the data contributes to real learning and regional transformation. Through a series of questions, this resource outlines a process in which regional leaders can use data to drive strategic decisionmaking amongst K–12, community college, and workforce development partners.
