REL West builds individual and organizational capacity to understand and use research in education policy and practice. These efforts have resulted in the following resources for educators, policymakers, and other interested stakeholders.

Educator Development

Ensuring that teachers and leaders get the support they need to grow in the profession and meet challenging goals for students.

Supporting the Whole Child

Strengthening cross-sector collaboration to improve student outcomes that support academic learning, including social and emotional learning, physical and mental health, and family engagement and support.

Early Learning

Improving early childhood programming and outcomes (e.g., kindergarten readiness and early literacy) through research-based practices.

Postsecondary Pathways

Increasing students’ preparation for, access to, and completion of postsecondary education in order to meet the region's current and projected employment needs.

English Learner Students

Understanding the diversity of English learner students in our region and exploring the programs and services that best meet their diverse needs.

Applying a problem-solving approach that is centered on inquiry and learning to enact changes in education systems.

Evidence Use in Education

Building the capacity of states and districts to better understand evidence standards in the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and apply them to decisions pertaining to education policy and practice.
