As a Research Associate with the Regional Educational Laboratory West (REL West) at WestEd, Niufeng Zhu provides quantitative research support to a wide range of educational research at REL West. She specializes in data management, statistical analysis, and research methods. Her work includes analyzing data related to English learner students, math course-taking patterns among middle school students, the efficacy of policy implementation for ‘Move On When Reading’ from the state level down to the school level in Arizona, reading and writing course offerings and enrollments in California high schools, and CAASSP results for ‘Math in Common’ district and their year-over-year changes across each district for select student subpopulations.

Prior to joining WestEd, Zhu worked for the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER) at Rutgers University, where she brought an expertise in quantitative data analysis and worked on studies that analyze the effects of child care and early education on children's learning and development.

She received an MS in Statistics from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and a BE in Mathematics from Southeast University, China.
