The Regional Educational Laboratory Program: Bringing Together Research, Policy, and Practice The Regional Educational Laboratories (RELs) work in partnership with school districts, state departments of education, and others to use data and research to improve academic outcomes for students. Fundamentally, the mission of the RELs is to help states and districts systematically use data and analysis to answer important issues of policy and practice with a goal of improving student outcomes.
