Home Resource The Providing Reading Interventions for Students in Middle School (PRISMS) Toolkit to Support Evidence-Based Reading Interventions
This infographic highlights the Providing Reading Interventions for Students in Middle School (PRISMS) Toolkit, which provides resources and tools for educators who support students reading below grade level in grades 6–8. The toolkit supports the effective implementation of the recommendations presented in the What Works Clearinghouse practice guide Providing Reading Interventions for Students in Grades 4–9.
REL Southwest is leading the development and evaluation of the PRISMS Toolkit, which is slated to be published in 2027.
Who does the toolkit support? The PRISMS Toolkit provides useful resources for school and district administrators, reading interventionists, instructional coaches, special educators, multilingual learner specialists, and other middle school educators who provide reading interventions. It can also be a helpful resource for middle school teachers who have students reading below grade level in their content-area classes.
