This presentation discusses screening, diagnosis, progress monitoring, and outcome assessment. The characteristics of universal screening from the South Carolina Department of Education Multi-Tiered Systems of Support document will be explained (e.g., reliability, validity, utility, triangulation of data). Examples of formative assessments to inform classroom literacy instruction are also presented.
