Marbella Alfonzo

Board Secretary, Nevada Association of School Administrators; Principal, Clark County School District
Dr. Marbella Alfonzo is the principal of Garside Junior High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she serves more than 1,200 students. She has worked as a teacher, college instructor, assistant professor, dean of students, and assistant principal. Dr. Alfonzo also serves as the Board Secretary of the Nevada Association of School Administrators.

John Arthur is in his sixth year of teaching at Meadowlark Elementary School in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the 2021 Utah Teacher of the Year and 2021 National Teacher of the Year finalist. He is a National Board-certified teacher and serves on Utah’s State School Board Advisory Committee for equity of educational services for students. In addition, he teaches at Westminster College’s Master of Arts in Teaching program.

Through programmatic and resource supports to local PTAs, Ms. Barral helps ensure collaboration and engagement of families and communities in Utah schools. She is a Certified Public Accountant and has extensive experience in leadership, strategy, finance, accounting.

Dr. Daryl F. Camp is the Superintendent of San Lorenzo Unified School District in Alameda, California, where he leads more than 518 teachers and serves nearly 10,000 students. Previously, he was the Superintendent of Riverbank Unified School District in California. Dr. Camp teaches the Setting Direction module in the California School Boards Association’s (CBSA) Masters in Governance program. He is also a governance consultant with CSBA’s Governance Consulting Services, developing customized board development workshops for governance teams.

Jhone M. Ebert is the Superintendent of Public Instruction for the Nevada Department of Education. Previously, she served as the senior deputy commissioner for P-20 education policy at the New York State Education Department,where she was the senior education policy advisor to the state commissioner and Board of Regents. Ms. Ebert also served in the Clark County School District (CCSD) in Nevada as chief innovation and productivity officer and chief technology officer. She began her education career as a mathematics teacher in Las Vegas.

Rebecca Garcia is the President of the Nevada Parent Teacher Association (PTA). As a volunteer leader of the Nevada PTA, she helps empower families and communities to advocate for all Nevada children. She also serves as a Community Impact Director for Dress for Success Southern Nevada.

Dr. Joseph Guzman is the Associate Superintendent of Accountability, Research, and Evaluation for the Arizona Department of Education. He is a member of the Small Business Development Board for the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Coconino County Industrial Development Board in Arizona. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University and Northern Arizona University.

Dr. Corey Greenlaw is the Executive Director of Accountability, Compliance, and Grants, at the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools. He has worked in PK–12 education as a school, district, and county administrator. Most of his work has been around data and assessments, particularly large-scale assessments and the use of assessment results in the formative process. He is a member of the California Technical Assistance Group for State Level Assessments.

Dr. Lupita Hightower is the Superintendent of Tolleson Elementary School District in Tolleson, Arizona, where she oversees four schools serving nearly 3,000 students. In addition, during her career, Dr. Hightower has served as a teacher, mentor/coach, assistant principal, principal, district-level director, and assistant superintendent. Dr. Hightower is also President of Arizona School Administrators and a Board member of the Arizona Association of LatinoAdministrators and Superintendents.

Jacob Moore is the Assistant Vice-President for Tribal Relations at Arizona State University. In this role, he is responsible for the intergovernmental affairs between the university and tribal nations and communities. Previously,Mr. Moore was managing partner for Generation Seven Strategic Partners, LLC, and also worked as an Economic Development Analyst and Special Assistant on Congressional and Legislative Affairs for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian community.

She conducts research and provides technical assistance and support to local schools and school districts, the state board of education, the legislature, and community-based organizations.

Dr. Ed Sullivan is the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Research and Analysis at the California State University (CSU) Office of the Chancellor, where he provides leadership for the Analytic Studies Department and analytic support to inform decisions of the CSU leadership, campus Presidents, Board of Trustees, faculty, students, staff, and external audiences. He was previously at CSU Fullerton leading the Office of Institutional Research and Analytical Studies, initially as Director and later as Assistant Vice President.

Young ensures these initiatives are centered in creating learning environments that foster 21st century skills for Utah’s students.
