Title:  Who Goes to America's Highly Ranked "National" Universities?
Description: NCES merged the lists of colleges and universities reported in the September 18, 1995 issue of "U.S. News and World Report" with data NCES collected as part of a national longitudinal study of high school students who are followed into postsecondary education. That effort produced this report which examines the characteristics of students who enter "Tier 1" National universities. The findings presented in this report underscore the importance of high school achievement and course taking.
