Supplemental information

Purpose: This project will compare and contrast the various methods that have been used to control for statistical bias in analyses of the NAEP data, and identify the ways and extent to which different methods contribute to differences in substantive findings. The study will also explore the use of instrumental variable [IV] models for controlling bias. IV models are common in econometric analysis, but have rarely been applied to the NAEP data.
