Purpose

The purpose of this project is to look for evidence of motivation problems in 12th graders by examining the students' response patterns. Evidence for motivation problems will consist of uneven performance in apparent "ability" over the course of the exam on dichotomous items, or abnormal differences in performance on dichotomous and extended constructed response items.
