Supplemental information

This project team will develop and test a prototype of the ESL Reading Assistant, intended to strengthen reading and listening skills of English as Second Language students. The web-based prototype will help students understand complex words and passages while reading. Based on user feedback, the product will adapt to provide personalized just-in-time supplemental information. In the Phase I pilot research with 100 students, the team will examine whether the prototype functions as planned and whether ESL students are able to read passages with the support it provides.
