Supplemental information

Purpose: This project will identify higher order instructional approaches in the NAEP teacher data which the literature suggests are related to standards-based educational reform. The project will develop measurement scales for the instructional processes and attempt to equate these scales across subject areas (math, reading and science), grade levels (fourth and eighth grade) and across several time points between 1994 and 2000. The project will also explore the relationship between the instructional practice scales developed and student, teacher, and school covariates.
