Supplemental information

Through a prior project, Sokikom developed a suite of games to replace or supplement Grade school math topics. In this project, the team will develop and test a prototype of Sokikom for Teachers (S4), a platform to host the math games for teacher-led direct instruction for Grade 4 math standards. S4 will include "just-in-time" prompts to support teacher-guided mathematical conversations with students on their device as they proceed through questions, the ability to assign students personalized self-paced lessons, and a teacher dashboard to inform instructional practice. The Phase I pilot study will include four Grade 4 classrooms, and will examine whether the prototype functions as planned, if teachers are able to implement S4 in classrooms, and whether students are engaged with the games and the interactions with teachers.
