Project Activities
The project team will develop a prototype with logic-based algorithms to identify and categorize students based on the structured data from their reflections, emoji inputs, social-emotion learning survey responses, and other factors that would potentially trigger a tier 2 or tier 3 intervention. The team will develop a dashboard to provide counselors information with recommendations for intervention. At the end of Phase I, they will conduct a pilot study with 60 students over a 12-week period. They will examine whether the algorithms accurately identify and assign students to tier 2 and tier 3 interventions based on their written reflections, and whether MTSS practitioners understand and believe they can use the results from the prototype to inform intervention.
