Purpose

The project team will identify and review currently available cost analysis models, compare them, and consider possible modifications. The team will use this information to develop technical guidance for applicants who are applying for IES funding. Applicants can then use this guidance as they develop and implement their cost analysis plans.

Project Activities

The development of the technical guidance will include a review of current cost analysis methods used primarily within the field of education as well as interviews with experts in cost analysis. The research team will produce a technical guidance document on cost analysis for IES as well as a create and release a public document (such as a blog post, working paper, published paper) that will identify and compare the various cost analysis models considered.
