A Tool for Improved Precision Reporting in Secondary Analysis of National and State-level NAEP Data

Purpose: This project will evaluate recently developed models for improving NAEP's estimation of subgroup proficiency distributions and integrate them with a new model designed to make it possible for state policy analysts and other education researchers to estimate NAEP population parameters which are as precise as published NAEP estimates.
