Descriptive Study
- What services do grantees provide and how much does this vary across grantees within programs?
- What share of participants receives each service and how intensively?

- What kinds of rigorous research designs are feasible to assess the impact of TRIO programs on TRIO participants’ outcomes?
Structured Abstract
Design
The descriptive study will field a survey to all TRIO grantees to gather information about services offered, participation intensity and cost for each service, how grantees monitor program implementation and interim progress, and screening and selection of participants and capacity constraints. Findings from the survey will be used to describe services provided and cost per service for each TRIO program. The results of the descriptive study will also provide TRIO grantees with insights about services and programming that are not currently captured by any other required reporting. The feasibility study will present options for rigorous research designs that could be used to conduct impact evaluations for each program in the future.
