Creating More Supportive Learning Conditions for Students in Delaware

REL Mid-Atlantic is partnering with the Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) to strengthen how the state collects, reports, and uses school discipline data. This work aims to help state leaders, districts, and schools better report and interpret discipline data and implement practices that create more supportive learning conditions for all students.

Supporting Continuous School Discipline Improvement Efforts: Current add remove

Delaware is committed to creating school environments where all students feel supported, engaged, and able to succeed. Yet exclusionary discipline practices—such as suspensions—vary widely across the state and may affect some student groups more than others. To better understand these patterns and strengthen positive discipline approaches, DDOE is partnering with REL Mid-Atlantic to improve the accuracy, quality, and use of its discipline data.

To support this work, the REL team will help improve the quality and usefulness of Delaware’s discipline data, gather insights from local leaders to better understand current practices and challenges, and build state, district, and school staff to interpret and use data for continuous improvement.
