REL Midwest is currently working with partners in Indiana on additional projects to address state and local educational priorities.
Current Projects
REL Midwest is working with the Indiana Department of Education to study the use of Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funds among schools with different postpandemic recovery levels.
REL Midwest is partnering with the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (ICHE) to increase the percentage of Indiana students engaged in high-quality work-based learning opportunities. Through a series of design sessions, REL Midwest and ICHE are cocreating two-page documents that highlight career pathways for each of Indiana’s 60 programs of study (for example, Precision Machining, Energy Technology, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant). Counselors across the state can use these documents to help students and families make informed decisions about programs of study.
REL Midwest is partnering with the Indiana Commission for Higher Education to expand high-quality work-based learning opportunities and strengthen employer coordination to support student placement in these opportunities. REL Midwest will engage district career technical education directors and Industry Talent Association leaders to identify staffing expectations, training and support needs, and common implementation parameters. REL Midwest also will facilitate working groups to develop practical tools, guidance, and processes for tracking work-based learning opportunities, supporting employer partnerships, and ensuring that students have meaningful opportunities that prepare them for the future.
