The Employability Skills Partnership is intended to support components of high-quality career pathways for high school students in Indiana. Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Midwest has partnered with Indianapolis Public Schools to focus on work-based learning within career and technical education (CTE) programs. REL Midwest supported the district in assessing barriers to student work-based learning participation and creating action plans to strengthen how students and employers prepare to engage in effective work-based learning.
Current projects
REL Midwest will work with Indianapolis Public Schools to strengthen the career pathways and programs of study offered to students in the district, with the goal of increasing the percentage of students engaged in high-quality work-based learning (WBL). Planned activities include gathering information through surveys and process mapping to inform the development of action plans to increase WBL offerings and student participation.
