Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Alliance for the Improvement of Early Literacy (Historical)

Focusing on early literacy was a priority in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) where many grade 3 students were not reading proficiently, at a time when they should be transitioning from learning to read to reading to learn. Our partners in the CNMI were committed to using research results, data, and best practices to guide policy and practice to influence reading outcomes, particularly in multilingual cultures.
