This report provides a statistical profile of state library agencies in the 50 states and the District of Columbia for state fiscal year 1997. The report includes information on income, operating expenditures, financial assistance to libraries, services to libraries and systems, public service hours, service outlets, service and development transactions, collections, and allied operations. The data were collected through the State Library Agencies Survey conducted by NCES.
