This report provides a statistical profile of state library agencies in the 50 states and the District of Columbia for state fiscal year 1998. The report includes information on staff, income, expenditures, services to libraries and systems, public service hours, service outlets, service and development transactions, collections, and allied operations, and electronic services. The data were collected through the State Library Agencies Survey conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
