SASS-Schools and Staffing Survey

This report describes the Schools and Staffing Survey (SASS), the largest survey of the characteristics and conditions of the nation's elementary and secondary schools. SASS collects information on public, charter, private, and Bureau of Indian Affairs schools, including school districts, principals, teachers, and school libraries. The report provides information on the survey content, questionnaires, sample sizes, and schedule for the next administration in the 1999-2000 school year. Also included are abstracts of SASS methodological studies and a listing of SASS data products and publications.
