This short Statistics in Brief uses NELS:88 Base Year data (eighth grade) and Second Follow-up data four years later (twelfth grade) to examine high school outcomes in order to determine which are affected by "risk factors" identified in students at the beginning of high school. Outcomes examined are tested achievement, high school, graduation and rank in class as well as social and behavioral outcomes.
