This fact sheet discusses the problem with retaining teachers, which is an issues across the nation, in Arizona and Utah as well as how districts in the two states are using Stay Interviews as a teacher retention strategy. The strategy encourages school leaders to have proactive, intentional conversations with teachers they want to retain to determine what it will take to keep them from leaving. The conversations can help identify new ways for district administrators to engage and support teachers’ professional growth.
