Improving School Climate and Discipline Practices in Delaware: Implementing reflective practices

Developed in partnership with the Delaware Department of Education, this resource highlights how Delaware schools and districts are using reflective approaches as part of broader efforts to improve school climate and discipline practices. It describes several types of practices and features examples from New Castle County Vocational–Technical School District and Sussex Central Middle School, including facilitated reflection activities that help address student needs before concerns escalate and an in-school alternative to suspension that combines reflective conversations with academic and behavioral support.
