Summary

These training materials include a PowerPoint presentation and handouts with tools and resources on nonacademic strategies to support students' postsecondary transitions. The materials also describe research on the link between social-emotional skills and students' successful postsecondary transitions, and they provide evidence-based strategies to help students develop self-efficacy, a social-emotional skill associated with students' successful transitions. These materials were originally presented at the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) Peer Group Conference to VCCS career coaches who work in high schools to support students' postsecondary transitions.
